Roman Garnett, PhD

Department of Computer Science & Engineering

Projects in Dr. Garnett’s lab include applying advanced machine-learning techniques for automated audiometry, and to develop computer game analytics and study animal behavior. In particular, Dr. Garnett collaborates with Dennis Barbour who has developed techniques for adaptive, nonparametric, personalized diagnosis by sequentially testing to detect noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL).  Students in Dr. Garnett’s laboratory will make use of machine learning and Gaussian processes for sensory function, largely in hearing.
