Sonyia Richardson, PhD, MSW

Dr. Sonyia Richardson is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She possesses a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (University of North Carolina Charlotte), M.S.W. (University of North Carolina Chapel Hill), and a B.A. in Psychology (University of North Carolina Charlotte). Her research focuses on Black mental health, suicide, and urban education. Dr. Richardson was appointed by Governor Roy Cooper to serve on the Andrea Harris Social, Economic, Environmental, and Health Equity Force. Additionally, Dr. Richardson is the founding owner of Another Level Counseling and Consultation located in Charlotte, North Carolina which she has owned and operated for over 14 years.
