Robert Motley is interested in community violence and related mental and behavioral outcomes for emerging adults 18 to 29 years of age. For his doctoral dissertation, Robert uses mixed methods to methods to examine the relationship between exposure to perceived racism-based police use of force, racism-based trauma symptoms, and substance use in a sample of Black emerging adults residing in St. Louis, Missouri.
