Proscovia Nabunya, PhD
Assistant Research Professor, Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis
Proscovia Nabunya’s research interest are in family and community-based support systems as protective factors for the development and well-being of children and families impacted by HIV/AIDS. She studies poverty-reduction strategies that utilize asset-based interventions and their impact on the social, economic and health well-being of children and families in HIV-impacted communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Nabunya’s current research specifically focuses on understanding how HIV-related stigma at the different socioecological levels (individual, family, community, institutional and structural-levels), facilitate, or impede optimal access to and use of effective HIV prevention strategies (continuum of care).
