Jasmin Brooks, MA

PhD Student, Clinical Psychology, University of Houston

Jasmin Brooks, M.A., is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Houston. Jasmin utilizes mixed methods approaches to examine how race-related stressors, including racial discrimination and microaggressions, influence suicide vulnerability and internalizing mental health disorders within Black populations. Jasmin’s current program of research focuses on identifying culturally relevant protective factors that moderate the association between racism-related stress and mental health outcomes for Black youth and emerging adults. She aims to apply her findings to the development of clinical interventions that reduce racial stress and promote psychological well-being within Black communities.
