Are you a hiring manager wanting to be connected with a Diversity Advisor for the hiring process? Where does the Diversity Advisor fit in the hiring process?
- After working with PsychPayroll and having your job posted on Workday, DEI Leader Kavya Singh (kavyas@wustl.edu) will contact you about your open position and if you want assistance from a Diversity Advisor.
- You will be sent a Qualtrics survey that provides a menu of items that a Diversity Advisor can assist you with. The items are as follows:
- Conduct DEI-Focused Interviews with Candidates. The Diversity Advisor can lead DEI-centered interviews, assessing candidates’ understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles and their commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.
- Support in Reviewing Candidate Applications. The Diversity Advisor can help review applications to promote a fair and equitable selection process, highlighting candidates who demonstrate alignment with DEI values.
- Recommend External Platforms for Job Postings. The Diversity Advisor can provide a list of diverse hiring networks, forums, and websites where job openings can be posted outside WorkDay, broadening your reach to underrepresented candidates.
- Develop DEI-Focused Interview Questions. The Diversity Advisor can help design interview questions that assess candidates’ DEI competencies, understanding, and experience, embedding DEI values within the interview process.
- Identify Potential DEI Gaps in Your Hiring Process. The Diversity Advisor can review your current hiring practices, identifying areas to strengthen DEI and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Assist with Onboarding Programs that Highlight DEI Values. The Diversity Advisor can help develop onboarding content that emphasizes the organization’s DEI values, guiding new hires to engage with these principles from day one.
- You can choose any or all items for assistance and a Diversity Advisor will be connected with you to get started on the items you chose.
Our Diversity Advisors are a cohort of faculty, staff, and students of the Department of Psychiatry that have all received DEI training and are committed to continuing their education and passion in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
