Diversity Advisors
A cohort of faculty and staff available to assist hiring managers with diversifying the hiring process.
What is the Diversity Advisor program?
A Diversity Advisor serves as a member of faculty and staff hiring committees and ensures that best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion are utilized throughout the hiring process.
- The WUSM Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion provided the framework for the program and our team has personalized it for our department.
- Once a hiring manager submits a job requisition, they can be connected with a Diversity Advisor for assistance in utilizing best DEI practices in hiring.
What can a Diversity Advisor assist with?
There are a handful of ways a Diversity Advisor can assist through the hiring process:
- Suggest websites and forums that a hiring manager can post their open position to expand the applicant pool.
- Help sift through applications and resumes, looking at them from a DEI standpoint.
- Provide DEI questions for interviews.
- Identify potential DEI gaps in your hiring process by reviewing your current practices.
