Dr. Lenze is the Wallace and Lucille Renard Professor of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Lenze completed college, medical school and psychiatry residency at Washington University. He then moved to University of Pittsburgh to train in geriatric psychiatry.
In 2007, he returned to Washington University Department of Psychiatry where he directs the Healthy Mind Lab. His research focuses on treatments for older adults with depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. He also studies how to improve recovery from disabling medical conditions such as hip fracture and stroke. He is author on over 200 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and book chapters.
Dr. Lenze is a practicing geriatric psychiatrist who sees outpatients and teaches geriatric mental health to young physicians and medical students at Washington University
