2020 Cohort

Megan Elizabeth Foeller, MD, is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She completed her medical school training at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL followed by OB/GYN residency at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Her interest in international medicine started in medical school with twice-yearly trips to Haiti to serve in a rural medical clinic and work with local midwives. She became interested in Dissemination and Implementation research after working as a consultant for the World Health Organization on creating guidelines for the management of Ebola virus disease in pregnancy.

Her research will focus on improving the prevention and early recognition of cardiovascular disease in women, and will use pregnancy as a window of opportunity to do so. As preventative strategies are critically important in low-resource settings, her research will be conducted in a rural Peruvian population with risk factors for cardiovascular disease
