Dr. Kelly Trevino is an Assistant Attending Member in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Prior to her arrival at MSK in August 2018, she was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She has a PhD in clinical psychology and completed fellowship training in geriatric psychology at the VA Boston Healthcare System and psychosocial oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Her research examines the nature and predictors of distress in patients with cancer and their caregivers and care received at the end-of-life. Funded by the Paul B. Beeson Career Development Award in Aging Research funded from the National Institute on Aging and the American Federation for Aging Research, Dr. Trevino is developed and evaluated an anxiety intervention for older adults with cancer and their caregivers. She has also obtained NIH and foundation grant funding to examine the implementation of psychological interventions to cancer patients and to develop web-based resources and psychotherapy interventions to promote distress management and advance directive completion in cancer patients. Her work has been recognized with the American Psychosocial Oncology New Investigator Award (2018), Spirituality and Health New Investigator Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine Spirituality and Health Special Interest Group (2016), and with an American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award (2012).
