Lunar Meteorite: Northwest Africa 15954
from The Meteoritical Bulletin, No. 112 Northwest Africa 15954 (NWA 15954)(Northwestern Africa) Lunar meteorite (feldspathic breccia) History: Bought in 2022 from A. Mouadine in Brügg Physical Characteristics: 3 individuals without visible fusion crust weighing 565, 180, and 199 g, respectively. Brecciated interior with light clasts set into dark grey matrix. Petrography: (M. Patzek, IfP) Feldspathic breccia composed of mineral and lithic clasts set in fine grained, partly glassy matrix. Minerals are predominantly plagioclase, olivine and pyroxenes. Accessory phases are: FeS, ilmenite, Ti-bearing chromite, and calcite. Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: Olivine: Fa37.1±16.6 (range Fa 19.9-37.8) FeO/MnO=109±30 n=7; plagioclase: An97.2±0.9 (An96.2-98.8, n=10), pyroxene: Fs25.7±7.0En65.7±10.6Wo8.6±4.6 range: Fs18.8-37.3Wo3.6-14.3, FeO/MnO=35-60, n=4.
