The Griot Museum is seeking artists who engage with lino-cutting, block printing, or textile art

The Griot Museum has an upcoming summer exhibition at the Museum titled Lift Every Voice, which features 15 hooked rugs inspired by Elizabeth Catlett’s linocut series The Black Woman running from June 8th-August 17th this summer. Alongside the exhibit, the museum would like to program different lectures and/or workshops highlighting local artistry!

If you or an artist/artist group you know engages with lino-cutting, block printing, or textile art (especially hooking), I would love to be in conversation if there is interest in collaborating with The Griot for programming. Please feel free to reach the Museum at 314-241-7057 or Ousmane Gay, Growing Griot Fellow, directly at ousmane.griotmuseum@gmail.com.
