The Physics department is looking to hire a student designer to create a logo and branding for a 400-person physics conference taking place at WashU next summer. The conference will cover topics like graphene, moiré physics, and the quantum Hall effect, and I’d love for the branding to reflect these cutting-edge themes.
For inspiration, you can check out the last iteration of the conference here: EP2DS25 Conference Website. As you can see, we need some professional design help! As just a taste, try googling images of “graphene” “moire physics” “van der waals heterstructure” “two dimensional electron systems” “quantum hall effect” “hofstadter butterfly.”
The timeline is a bit tight: I’d like the website (designed by another WashU undergrad) to go live by the end of the year. I’m happy to provide additional inspiration and images related to the topics of the conference to help spark creativity.
The pay is $15–20 per hour, depending on experience.
Please submit questions and resume/samples to Erik Henriksen.
