Hickok Cole has officially launched the Rise Internship and Stipend 2024, our annual program dedicated to elevating Black design voices. Each year, we invite one student to join us for an eight-to-ten-week paid summer internship at the Hickok Cole headquarters in Washington, DC where they will be exposed to the intricacies of the profession and have the opportunity to dig into real project work! Upon completion, interns will also receive a $5,000 stipend to put towards university-related expenses including tuition fees, textbooks, boarding, and current semester balances.
To apply, students must identify as Black, African American, or African Diaspora and be enrolled in at least their third or fourth year of an architecture and/or interior design program. Rising 4th or 5th-year undergraduate and graduate students must be returning to school in the Fall of 2024. Graduating students are encouraged to apply for a permanent position at Hickok Cole. The submission deadline is January 12, 2024, with the final decision released February 23rd, 2023. More information about Hickok Cole and the internship program can be found below:
