Perennial is hiring a part-time Woodshop Assistant to help out with ReCreate Studio!
Position Summary:
The Recreate Studio Woodshop Assistant is on-site during the program which takes place 3 Sundays a month from 1-4pm. Job duties include:
• helping with woodshop project design and skills
• managing the woodshop space to keep things clean and safe
• maintaining an inclusive and caring space for all participants, regardless of background or skill level, to feel welcome and confident to create
Required skills:
• 1-2 years experience woodworking experience
• knowledge of hand and power tools including but not limited to table saw, chop saw, sanders, planers, drills, and more
• commitment to resourcefulness and sustainability
• passion to share skills and invest in building a creative culture of sustainability for all
While formal woodshop training is not required, we are looking for someone already familiar with woodworking techniques and tools with a commitment to safety. A passion for reuse is required.
This position would be great for a college student or recent graduate with studio/shop monitoring experience.
The program takes place 3 Sundays a month from 1-4pm. Approximately 12 hours a month. Consistent Sunday availability is required.
The ReCreate Studio Program serves participants connected to our social service partners and gives women at transitional points in their lives free access to materials, tools, and instructors to make their DIY dreams come true. The program helps build both creative confidence and trust while keeping creative reuse accessible.
