Massy Mutumba, PhD

Assistant Professor, Health Behavior and Biological Sciences, University of Michigan

Dr. Mutumba is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Behavior and Biological Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. Her research focuses on HIV among adolescents and young adults, with the goal of developing interventions to improve self-management of HIV, measurement and promotion of mental wellbeing (including prevention of substance use), and improving access to mental health services in resources limited settings.

Dr. Mutumba worked with her mentor, Dr. Fred Ssewamala, on a manuscript using data from the International Center for Child Health and Development (ICHAD) Suubi4Her study. She also worked on the submission of an R01 proposal to research stigma and HIV treatment adherence.
