Cendi was an undergraduate student at WashU who majored in chemistry. She is originally from Shenzhen, China. In high school, she and her teammates represented their school to compete in the Rising Star Chemistry Challenge, an experiment-based competition organized by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). She also participated in a Pioneer Research Project and conducted research on decision-making neuroscience under the guidance of Prof. Jagmeet S. Kanwal from Georgetown University. In her free time, Cendi enjoys swimming, playing computer games and listening to traditional Chinese music. Cendi went on to pursue her Ph.D. at UCLA in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Structural Biology.
