Abstract: In this seminar, we will cover the basics of using point spread function (PSF) to characterize the diffuse optical tomography (DOT) system in simulation. I will first, briefly introduce the DOT system and go over the concepts of the point spread function. Next, we can go over multiple PSF metrics that can be used to evaluate the performance of the system. The seminar will then end with several real-life examples of DOT evaluation using PSF.
