C-TRAIN Group and United Imaging in Healthcare (UIH) have established a joint research agreement- Translational Collaboration for Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (TC-CMRI) that seeks to validate and optimize the use of Cardiac MRI (cMRI) to address unmet medical needs in cardio-oncology (e.g., amyloid in multiple myeloma), genetic-based aortic diseases (e.g., Marfan’s Disease), and Electrophysiology (e.g., computational cMRI guided arrhythmia ablation). Additionally, we are forming collaborations with multiple WashU PIs to meet their imaging requirements.

PARTNERSHIP RESEARCH
These are complicated topics that currently require significant research image and data processing support. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be developed and employed at C-TRAIN Group, a WU research facility, to simplify and accelerate these procedures. Ultimately, AI will allow reduced operator dependence by automatically acquiring the cardiac images, segmenting and determining cardiac chamber structure and volumes, conducting post-processing image analysis, and establishing the preliminary draft reports of results to aid interpretation by Radiology/Cardiology attending physicians.
