Our multidisciplinary research interests are in the innovation, development, and preclinical evaluation of molecular imaging and therapeutic agents. Applications include the accurate detection and treatment of oncologic, inflammatory and cardiovascular diseases. Our location in the CORTEX research district, which works with industry and university partners, is well-suited for our goal of translating nanomedicine technology to the public.

Our preclinical imaging experiments employ multiple imaging modalities including: MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Ultrasound (US), gamma camera, SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography), Spectral-CT (computed tomography), and optical. CTRAIN has a long standing interest and involvement with Echocardiography and Cardiac MRI (CMR). A recent collaboration between United Imaging in Healthcare (UIH) and CTRAIN will explore the medical management opportunities enabled by Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhanced CMR.

CTRAIN is a highly multidisciplinary research lab composed of staff with backgrounds in medicine, nanotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, nuclear chemistry, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, imaging physics and medical imaging.  Our collaborations are within Washington University, other academic institutions and industry.  Learn more……
