Director of Translational Research Program and Director of the Translational Neuroscience Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, The Rosamund Stone Zander Chair at Boston Children’s Hospital, Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School

Mustafa Sahin is a child neurologist and developmental neurobiologist. Work in the Sahin lab has identified the mechanisms by which a TSC leads to mis-wiring of neurons in the brain; this research also led to the identification of potential therapies for the disorder. His current research focuses on translating such preclinical findings into the clinic and developing treatments for the epilepsy and autism associated with activation of the mTOR signaling pathway. He directs a national consortium to study biomarkers and comparative pathobiology of TSC and related neurodevelopmental disorders.
