Presented by:
Sheretta T. Butler-Barnes, PhD
Associate Professor, Brown School
Black Families, Racism, & Resilience (BFRR) Lab

The stories of Michael “Mike” Brown, Breonna Taylor, Deborah Danner, Trayvon Martin, Sean Reed, India Kager, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Daunte Wright, and others have become symbols of larger societal divides in America, exposing the brutal and complex realities of racism and anti-Blackness in the United States. Join Dr. Butler-Barnes as she addresses the impact of Black parents’ race-related experiences on parenting practices, and socialization, as well as strategies, to empower Black families.

This presentation is part of the Brown School’s recognition of Black History Month.
