The Office of Education works hard to enhance our medical education programs. When the LCME team is here, they may ask you about these updates. We want to keep you in the know.

Did you know: This is the revised mission and vision.

Did you know: These are the guiding principles of the Gateway Curriculum.

Did you know: There are six program objective competency domains. For quick reference, the WUSM Educational Program Objectives (EPOs) are found in here in the Bulletin. In general, the Bulletin is a great resource for information on WUSM policies and other key documents.

Did you know: There are 170 weeks in the Gateway curriculum, broken down into 3 phases.  

Did you know: These are our diversity categories for faculty, staff and students.

Did you know: The faculty of a medical school ensure that the medical curriculum includes self-directed learning experiences and unscheduled time to allow medical students to develop the skills of lifelong learning. Self-directed learning involves medical students’ self-assessment of learning needs; independent identification, analysis, and synthesis of relevant information; appraisal of the credibility of information sources; and feedback on these skills. SDL is incorporated into Modules 1, 3, 5 and all Immersions.  

Did you know: The Commission on Equity in Clinical Grading (CECG) was formed to analyze WUSM’s equity in grading.

Did you know: The newly revised Medical Student Mistreatment Reporting and Monitoring Policy is found in the Bulletin.

Did you know: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects student information.
