The purpose of the self-study is to collect and review information about the medical school and its educational program to pinpoint institutional strengths and opportunities for growth that require attention, and determine approaches to uphold institutional strengths and address areas that present challenges. Representatives from the administration, faculty, and student body make up the self-study task force subcommittees, are charged with this task and will present their findings to the self-study executive committee.
The self-study summary report is used as a guide for both the institution and visiting LCME survey team. The self-study task force will create the summary report which will be submitted to the LCME for their review along with the completed data collection instrument (DCI) and the independent student analysis (ISA), and all supporting documents.
