Research Overview
The focus of this cluster is on the application of nanomaterials in biological systems. This research is rooted in understanding and controlling synthesis, using both aerosol and sol-gel approaches, for directed use in these highly complex systems. The applications include not only biomedicine development for human systems but also fertilizer and pesticide development for plant systems. In addition, this group attempts to understand the fate of these nanomaterials and the impacts of human exposure to nanoparticles, both advertent and inadvertent.
