The He Lab Receives JIT Funds from ICST!

We thank the Just-In-Time (JIT) Core Usage Funding Program for supporting an one-year core funds (since Aug 2024) to the He Lab!

The JIT program is supported by the Washington University Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICST), Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders, and Siteman Cancer Center.

AACR Research Funding Impact: Grantee Impact

Xue-Yan was awarded the AACR-AstraZeneca Breast Cancer Research Fellowship in 2021. During her postdoctoral fellowship, she uncovered how neutrophils create a pro-metastatic environment in response to chronic stress. The results of this study highlight the potential of stress reduction as a strategy for cancer patients to improve treatment outcome (May, 2024).

National Cancer Institute (NCI) News & Events Blog

We thank NCI News & Events Blog for the interview and the highlights on Xueyan’s work on stress and metastasis (April, 2024)!

Xue-Yan is highlighted by AACR Tumor Microenvironment (TME) Working Group as an early career investigator

Thank you AACR Tumor Micrornvironment Working Group for for shining a spotlight on Xueyan and her work on stress and metastasis (March, 2024)!

The He Lab is funded by Cancer Research Foundation!

We thank Cancer Research Foundation for granting two-year support (since 04/01/2024) to Xue-Yan as a recipient of the Young Investigator Award!

Welcome Chen, Xiaoxiao and Steven!

  • Welcome Chen Chen, Ph. D. joining the He lab as a senior scientist!
  • Welcome Xiaoxiao Zhou, Ph.D. joining us as a Postdoctoral Research Associate!
  • Welcome Steven joining us as an undergrad research assistant!

The He Lab is funded by Pedal the Cause (Nov, 2023)!

Funding for our lab was made possible by Pedal the Cause. Pedal the Cause was founded in 2010 with the bold vision of creating a world without cancer by funding cancer research in its earliest stage at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Xue-Yan He’s lab officially launches in October, 2023!

Our lab launches on the 5th floor of Cancer Research Building, at the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, Washington University School of Medicine. We invite you to join us if you’re interested in our work!
