Abstract



As an increasing number of processes become automated, from production in factories to driving, there is an ever-growing need for research in the field.  This project will create platform to drive such research in the form of a miniature autonomous vehicle.  This vehicle will allow future students to research a variety of different problems common to the automation field, including motor control, position tracking, image processing, inertial measurements, vehicle-to-vehicle communications, and more.  The final vehicle will be equipped with a range of sensors to make necessary measurements, and the ability to process data autonomously or communicate with an external server, providing future students with a vast array of potential research fields.
