Restaurants

St. Louis is well known for its BBQ. It also offers an eclectic mix of dining experiences throughout its many neighborhoods including Clayton, University City, the Central West End, South Grand, Soulard, and the Hill. Food lovers can sample local delicacies including toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake, pizza from Imo’s, frozen custard at Ted Drewes, and beer at the Anheuser-Busch brewery tour or one of the many local microbreweries. When you receive good service at a restaurant, it is customary to tip the server 15% to 20% of the (pre-tax) bill.

Millbrook Garage (96, E2) is the closest to the Charles F. Knight Executive Education & Conference Center. Another option is Snow Way Garage (98, C3); visitor parking is on the top level of Snow Way Garage.

Smoking Policy

Smoking: All Wash U campuses are entirely smoke and tobacco-free. Under the policy, smoking and the use of all other tobacco products is prohibited on the entire campus. Smoking also is prohibited inside vehicles parked in campus parking lots. This policy applies to all university community members, including visitors. For additional information click here. There is no statewide ban on smoking in the state of Missouri. Several Missouri cities, including St. Louis and Clayton, have strict smoke-free laws with few exceptions.

Travel Reimbursement (by invite only)

For travel reimbursement for this visit, complete the correct form (links below) and return it to Jessica Cain before your visit (links to forms below). Reimbursement of all qualified expenses must be received within 60 days after completion of the visit.

  • US Citizens/US Permanent Residents/Resident aliens (Green cards): Fill out the direct deposit and W-9 forms.
  • All others:Please keep all original receipts so I may reimburse you for your travel expenses. We accept e-receipts and hard-copy receipts. Hard copy receipts can be scanned/photographed and emailed to me for reimbursement. Hold onto ALL of your original receipts until you receive reimbursement.
