New! Murine Fracture Models

We are pleased to announce that Core D now offers assistance with different types of murine fracture models, including tibia and femur fracture model, femur autograft and allograft model, as well as fracture nonunion model (critical size bone defect). We will provide guidance for experimental design, hands-on training, and the following phenotypical analyses; histology, microCT, angiogenic microCT, and biomechanical torsion test.

Static Weight Bearing – BIO-SWB

An easy and non pain-inducing solution for assessing the level of discomfort (incapacitance) in the injured paw of a small animal like a rat or a mouse by measuring the Postural Equilibrium “ independently of the operator”. The static weight bearing instrument is ideal for your research on analagesia and nociception involving rodents: osteo arthrisis, cartilage degeneration, inflammation models, nerve injury models, and much more… Discover the SWB-Touch: now with a brand new touch-screen console.

Electronic Von Frey – Model EVF4

A quick solution to determine the mechanical sensitivity threshold in rodents (mice and rats). This precise and easy-to-use electronic instrument is a must-have reference for your research in analgesia, nociception, neuro-pathologies and post-operative pain.

SMALGO (Small Animal Algometer)

Dedicated to small animals, Smalgo is a pressure-based analgesimeter designed for easy assessment of sensitivity threshold. It is a great test for osteo-arthritis and pain studies. A quick, easy-to-use and reliable instrument to assess threshold sensitivity of the animal when applying a progressive force, which can also be used for drug screening, phenotyping, as well as on studies about neuropathy, inflammation and post-operative pain.

Rodent Spontaneous Activity Wheels – BIO-ACTIVW

The BIOSEB Spontaneous Activity Wheel is an easy way to quantify rodent voluntary activity in their home cage environment. The embedded electronics perform a wide range of measurements, including: wheel revolutions, average/min/max speed, acceleration, utilization time, number of access events among others . A useful tool for studies on Drug Screening, Phenotyping Circadian Rhythms, and Neuromuscular Diseases; now with a software-independent LCD display and redesigned software.

Grip Strength Test Meter – BIO-GS3

An easy way to objectively quantify the muscular strength of rodents (mouse and rat), and to assess the effect of drugs, toxins, muscular (i.e. myopathy) and neurodegenerative diseases on muscular degeneration. Widely used in conjunction with the ROTAROD motor coordination test because a normally coordinated rodent will show a decreased latency to fall off the rotating rod if its muscular strength is low.

Thermal Analgesia Meter – BIO-CHP

For testing animal’s thermal sensitivity to pain resulting from exposure to heat or cold: the Cold Hot Plate is an innovative instrument opening new investigation fields for your analgesia and nociception research, and a useful tool for analgesic drug screening using rats or mice models.

Activity Cage for Rodents – Open Field System LE8025C

Used to evaluate animal’s basal activity and its evolution for rodents (rats and mice) in response to novelty or anxiogenic environment, pharmacological treatment, lesion or genetic modification. Equipped with versatile system of sensors allowing height adjustment, rearing sensors, photobeam spacing, and software capturing 100 data points per second per sensor.

Rotarod – LE8205

Rotarod provides an easy way to test the motor activity in rodents (mouse or rat) – an ideal solution for studying central nervous system damage, disease effects on motor activity, drugs administration, fatigue resistance, etc. The new touchscreen graphic user interface allows clear visualization of timing and speed for each lane. Change modes, adjust speed, and create protocols right from the main screen for greater flexibility with maximum functionality and usability
