     Ever diverse and interdisciplinary, Dr. Steensma serves as a Professor of Environmental Health and Social Entrepreneurship as well as a Scholar at the Institute for Public Health and a Biodiversity Fellow at the Living Earth Collaborative at Washington University in Saint Louis.

   Before joining the academy Dr. Steensma was active in business and public affairs. Dr. Steensma founded Industrial Solutions Group (ISG), which grew to become one of the premier occupational and environmental health companies in the United States. ISG was sold to Concentra in 2007. He has launched several successful ventures and continues his entrepreneurial efforts to this day. He has worked with hundreds of companies around the world to improve their operations to make them safer, more sustainable, and more profitable.

   Dr. Steensma specializes in business operations, environmental/occupational health, and biostatistics. He is passionate about sustainability and the role enterprise plays in advancing societies.
