Project Overview

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (DCFSAs) are pre-tax accounts employers can offer as an employee benefit that allow their workers to set aside income to pay for child care or elder care expenses. However, higher-income workers tend to benefit more from such programs than low- to moderate-income (LMI) workers. With generous support of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the WFSI is conducting a scan of the DCFSA field to identify potential opportunities for employers and policymakers to enhance the design of DCFSAs in a way that levels the playing field and provides greater value to LMI workers.
