The Memorial Site is meant to allow the native plant communities to continue to foster an ecologically resilient sustainable landscape that is diverse, attractive, and seasonal. It provides both a prairie-like and woodland environment set within a natural Missouri ecosystem that is home to an abundance of native species.

  • The native trees, wildflowers, and grasses provide diverse habitat and food sources for wild life, songbirds, and pollinators.
  • The plant palette within the Memorial Grove consists of a wonderfully unique range of biodiversity.
  • The memorial site transitions from a prairie-like setting near the entry to a native woodland environment as you move toward the back of the site.

  • The site has a paved area which identifies the accessible path. Please always use care when using the meandering path.
  • The site is open dawn to dusk and will be closed during times of inclement weather.
  • For questions or concerns, please contact the Site Program Manager at memorialgrove@wustl.edu.
