In building our AWD radio control car, we needed to install four separate motors to implement our torque vectoring algorithm.
In designing our vehicle, we began by assembling the chassis according to the Sunfounder manual. The following Figure 1 depicts the vehicle prior to the body modifications required in our custom design. It should be noted that the Sunfounder car kit is rear-wheel drive, with only two motors powering the back wheels.

To adjust the vehicle kit to meet our specifications to achieve an AWD system, our team needed to design a front axle to accommodate the two extra front motors. We ultimately decided to mount the front motors on the exterior of the body by designing our own plexiglass axle. Our modifications are shown below in Figure 2.
