TIGERISS is a new experiment envisioned for the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Astrophysics Pioneers Program.
TIGERISS is led by Washington University in St. Louis. Contributing institutions include NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center; Howard University; Pennsylvania State University; University of Maryland, Baltimore County; and Northern Kentucky University.
The TIGERISS team is built on the experience of the SuperTIGER collaboration and includes universities and an industrial partner (KBR) with proven success developing space flight hardware and conducting scientific investigations via cost-capped missions. The organization and responsibilities of each institution leverages the technical and scientific strengths and experience of each partner, such as Goddard’s design experience and science technology management at Washington University demonstrated by the success of TIGER and SuperTIGER.
