CARTOTank

Learn more about the collaborative effort between BME 401 Senior Design Group 3 and SentiAR to design a testing tank for cardiac mapping and ablation procedures.

About SentiAR

SentiAR, a digital health and software device company, is revolutionizing clinical practice in interventional procedures. Emerging from Washington University, the company specializes in developing a 3D visualization platform that utilizes real-time holography to display the patient’s anatomy and catheter location directly over the patient. The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency and safety of care delivery for both clinicians and patients.

SentiAR’s mission is to reshape the interventional procedure experience by introducing a 3D augmented reality platform. This platform features real-time holographic visualization of the patient’s actual anatomy, displayed directly over the patient, aiming to provide a faster and safer care delivery process.

Needs Statement

SentiAR’s quality engineering team needs a reusable catheter testing modality that is compatible with their CommandEP system and serves as a training tool for physicians in a non-clinical setting and demonstrates the efficacy of the system to potential customers.

Project Scope

A successful prototype design would consist of a heart phantom testing apparatus that is mobile, easy to assemble, and compatible with the PENTARAY™ NAV eco Catheter April 19th, 2024.

Final Prototype

The team designed the final prototype above. This final design consisted a tank, chambered heart phantom, 6 electrodes, a catheter entrant tube, and twistable male/female mount connector pieces. The actual prototype that was used in verification and validation can be seen in the photo below.
