Project Objective
For this project, our group was to design an autonomous car built from a modified Traxxas Rustler car that can follow an L-shaped path on the sidewalks of Washington University as fast as possible. The group may decide how to complete this objective. Our project will explore the use of camera, IMU, encoder, and Lidar to create an autonomous toy car, though only the camera and Lidar were used in practice. Information from these sensors are used in a control system which will dictate speed and steering of the car. This was done using the program language python. The Robotic Operating System (ROS) was explored during the project, but not ultimately implemented when demonstrating the final result.
