In Reza Ahmadi’s “Managing Capacity and Flow at Theme Parks,” which does a queuing theory analysis of Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA, the paper discusses a few alternatives to better the lines in theme park [2]. Some of the suggestions include more shows which can accommodate a lot of people when popular coasters are busy in the afternoon, or by installing TV monitors or plaques at the entrance of rides to dissuade people from queuing if the line is longer than they would like. Our model, simply put, uses paper fastpasses to better distribute people. The costs associated with our solution would be minimal unlike an additional show or even a large capital expenditure for another major ride.
