February 7, 2025: DBBS Student Spotlight: Antonio Brazelton
Meet Antonio Brazelton, a dedicated Ph.D. candidate in the DBBS Plant & Microbial Biosciences program! Antonio conducts cutting-edge research at both the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Food Agriculture & Nutrition Innovation Center where he dives deep into understanding the roots of heirloom varieties of collard greens, traditionally passed down through generations in the southeastern U.S.
Using a scientific photo booth, Antonio captures data-rich images that pave the way for groundbreaking discoveries in plant sciences. His innovative work not only advances our knowledge but also honors the cultural heritage of these treasured plants. Antonio’s incredible work was recently featured on STLPR, and we’re excited to see all the amazing contributions he’ll continue to make in the world of plant science.
