Motor

The motor is connected and partial enclosed in a gear box housing which drives a slip differential. This allows one tire to spin if one tire is stopped.

Lidar

The lidar was used to detect anything in a 360 degree radius by emitting a laser. The laser bounces off objects and returns to the lidar. After running the data collected through some calculations the distance can be determined.

ESC

The ESC is what connects the motor to the Pi board and the battery connections. The ESC also controls the motor by receiving data from the PI board. Holing the buttons allows for a change in driving mode

Camera

The camera allows us to see what the car sees. it is mounted on the front of the car. The code from the Picar Code page allows us to have a livestream from the camera to the connected laptop or pc.
