Paulo Nascimento Neto, PhD

Director of the Graduate Program in Urban Management

Paulo Nascimento Neto is the Director of the Graduate Program in Urban Management (PPGTU) at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR), in Curitiba, Brazil. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of URBE – Brazilian Journal of Urban Management, a leading Q2 journal in urban studies in Latin America. He also holds editorial positions as Academic Editor at PLOS One (Q1) and Associate Editor at Nature – Humanities & Social Sciences Communications (Q1). Urban planner with a specialization in Urban Analytics, he holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Urban Management. He is the lead researcher at the Center for Studies in Urban Policies (CE.URB) and a member of the Steering Committee for the International Geographical Union’s Commission on Geography of Governance (2024–2028 term). His professional background includes extensive experience in urban planning consultancy and public sector roles. His research focuses on the analysis and evaluation of urban policies, with particular emphasis on housing, spatial planning, and urban management.
