PSC Structure

The PSC is divided into teams, each of which are responsible for 1-2 initiatives. This allows for members to focus on initiatives that interest them while also ensuring every initiative has someone working on it.

Safety begins with those who are in the lab everyday. As graduate students, we can have one of the biggest impacts on the safety culture here at WashU.
Objectives
- Improve safety culture throughout the department
- Offer graduate students the opportunity to participate in improving safety
- Increase communication and transparency about safety between labs
- Encourage member pride in operating and conducting science in a safe way
Methods
- Identifying needs for safety improvement within the department
- Creating and instilling safety initiatives for the department
- Hosting and encouraging safety discussions and events
- Fostering a positive outlook on safety
