Welcome to the Lab

The Pan lab is based in the John T. Milliken Department of Medicine and the Division of Rheumatology in the Clinical Sciences Research Building at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. We are a part of both the Department of Pathology and Immunology as well as the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

In our pursuit to turn the impossible into reality, we are a dedicated group of individuals passionate about transforming medicine to elevate the quality of life. For more information about our members and their accomplishments, please see the PEOPLE page.

Our Research

Embarking on a mission to revolutionize healthcare, our research endeavors are driven by a threefold goal. Firstly, we aim to enable the identification of high-risk populations by leveraging cutting-edge molecular and imaging biomarkers. Through this approach, we seek to enhance early detection and precision in targeting those in need. Secondly, our commitment extends to the development of groundbreaking therapeutics, achieved by harnessing advanced delivery platforms. This strategic utilization allows for the creation of tailored interventions, addressing the unique needs of individuals within these high-risk groups. Lastly, at the core of our vision lies the establishment of artificial intelligence-assisted healthcare. By seamlessly integrating human intelligence with machine/deep learning, we aspire to pioneer a new era in medical care, where technology augments our capabilities, leading to more accurate diagnostics and personalized treatment strategies.
