The Problem
The reproductive health landscape currently lacks methodologies that allow for real-time, continuous, and comprehensive analysis. The clinical gold standard method is blood testing using immunoassays which allows for precise results for physicians to interpret. However, the turnaround time for these results is often several days, potentially delaying critical treatment. Moreover, the results only provide information regarding that individual’s health at that moment in time, which can lead to misinterpretation or misdiagnosis. Similarly, calendar cycle tracking, can be a helpful tool for those with regular cycles, but fails to work for individuals with irregular cycles, which accounts for twenty-five percent of the menstruating population. At-home kits can provide a convenient alternative to the prior two methods, but comprehensive options that track multiple hormone concentrations in urine can be expensive and don’t allow for continuous readings and the more affordable options often only provide binary results.

Need Statement
There is a need for a faster and more reliable form of reproductive hormone monitoring for menstruating people that provides continuously updated menstrual cycle data in a digestible form to be used as a contraceptive, fertility aid or tool in monitoring reproductive disorders.
