Many tools do not require a VPN connection to access them. For example, Canvas, Zoom, Teams, Box, Outlook, and O365 apps.

Connecting with AnyConnect

Open Cisco AnyConnect (Start  > Cisco > AnyConnect)

Enter vpn.wustl.edu/business. After you connect for the first time, the dropdown list will be updated with two options:

  • Olin Business (only WashU traffic will go over VPN) – Preferred for normal use
    • Address: vpn.wustl.edu/business
    • This connection provides access to campus resources including file shares and applications such as BASe, SISAdmin, and others.
    • This is the preferred connection for most users.
  • Olin Business (FT) (all traffic, no matter the destination, will go over the VPN).
    • Address: vpn.wustl.edu/business_ft
    • This connection provides access to campus resources including file shares and applications such as BASe, SISAdmin, and others.
    • Routes all traffic including non-WashU traffic such as Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, etc. through the VPN.
    • Consider using this when using public Wi-Fi hotspots and for foreign travel.

In the next window, connect using your WUSTL key ID and password.
