Seyed Mousavi

Born and raised in Iran, I’ve always had a passion for learning and a drive to lead. My journey began with an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, where I cultivated a fascination for problem-solving and efficiency. A fortunate twist of fate led me to discover the world of stock trading, which sparked a deep interest in finance. This newfound passion inspired me to pursue a master’s degree in Financial Engineering before starting my career with various financial institutions.

My professional path eventually led me to the largest investment bank in Iran, where I served as a Risk Manager for seven years. During this time, I developed a deep understanding of risk management and gained invaluable experience in navigating complex financial landscapes. Eager to expand my leadership abilities, I decided to pursue an MBA at Olin, where I’m now focused on becoming a more effective leader.

Even in high school, my leadership skills were emerging—I coached our class soccer team to a championship victory among competing high school teams. Family is incredibly important to me. I have one older brother who is married, and I’m a proud uncle to a beautiful 10-year-old niece named Helma.

Outside of work and study, I’m an adventurer at heart. As a proud PADI member, I love immersing myself in nature through camping trips or scuba diving. In my early 20s, I also channeled my energy into martial arts, which taught me discipline and resilience—traits that have served me well throughout my career. I’m also the founder of the Olin MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Club. My team and I are dedicated to introducing people to the rich culture and incredible projects and career opportunities in the MENA region.

Mohamed Zaghloul

I’m Mohamed Zaghloul, a passionate biomedical scientist. Born and raised in Egypt, I grew up in Saudi Arabia, where I completed my medical education. Driven by curiosity and a desire to make a difference, I set my sights on the United States to learn from the best and establish myself as a scientist.

My journey began in Pittsburgh, PA, where I immersed myself in cutting-edge research. While I learned a great deal, the cloudy weather made me realize that I’m a sun-loving Egyptian at heart! So, I made my way to the vibrant and welcoming city of St. Louis, MO. It’s here at Washington University’s School of Medicine where I’m establishing myself as a scientist and translating my research to the clinical side.

But my interests extend beyond the clinical side of medicine. I’m driven to translate and commercialize science to revolutionize healthcare. That’s why I joined the PMBA program at Olin (RIP PMBA, long live the FLEX MBA!). Through this experience, I’m gaining invaluable skills in resource allocation, project management, market analysis, and more—all crucial for bringing groundbreaking therapies to patients in need.

Being Egyptian, I’m naturally drawn to art and history. I love exploring how the past shapes our present and learning about the incredible achievements of my ancestors. I’m also fascinated by the artistic expressions of different cultures, and how art can tell powerful stories across time. Recently, I had the chance to visit the Egyptian section at the Louvre Museum in Paris, and it was a dream come true. Seeing the artifacts and artworks created by ancient Egyptians was a powerful reminder of the rich cultural heritage I come from.

I’m also the co-founder of the Olin MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Club. Our team is dedicated to introducing the Olin community to the rich culture and incredible opportunities available in the MENA region. Through various events and activities, we aim to foster cross-cultural understanding, collaboration, and networking among students and professionals with Middle Eastern and North African roots. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Olin community and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
