Emily Palm (She/They)
Emily is a driven dual-degree student at WashU, pursuing an MBA at Olin and an MSW at the Brown School. Originally from Rockford, IL—home of the Rockford Peaches, Cheap Trick, and the Sock Monkey—Emily has brought her Midwestern work ethic and passion for social good to WashU, where she’s quickly become a force for positive change. As a Forte Fellow, Consulting Club Board Member, peer mentor, and officer in Olin’s LGBTQ+ club, Emily is passionate about consulting, social impact, and using business as a force for good.
At her core, Emily is dedicated to ending homelessness. She’s passionate about finding innovative ways to address systemic issues like housing insecurity and dreams of one day launching a socially conscious real estate venture that promotes community development without displacing vulnerable populations.
When Emily isn’t working, she’s often found cooking up something delicious and sustainable in the kitchen. From turning carrot tops into chimichurri to making balsamic vinegar out of overripe strawberries, Emily is always experimenting with ways to reduce food waste and make the most of what she has. Her love for sustainable cooking is just one part of her broader commitment to living mindfully and making a positive impact on both people and the planet.
Outside of her academic and culinary pursuits, Emily loves spending time in nature, especially in the serene beauty of Northern Wisconsin. She is also a proud cat mom of two fur babies, Tucker (the orange one) and Newt (black & white), who keep her company during her busy days.
Fun Fact: Emily used to sing professionally and, while in undergrad, performed with her choir for former President George W. Bush!
