Meet the Group!
Tram Ngo – Co-President of SCOPA
Tram, originally from Vietnam, has a background in Supply Chain with 5 years of experience prior to her journey at Olin. With an internship at Nuro, Inc., a startup in autonomous vehicles, she thrived as a Global Supply Manager. Tram’s passions extend to travel, as she nurtures a desire to explore diverse countries.
Fun Fact: Tram didn’t used to enjoy hiking. However, since her move to the US, she’s started to hike frequently. She has completed trails in locations like St. Louis, Bay Area, Sedona, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe, as well as in the Andes (with a lot of support from her classmates).
Haocheng Kuang – Co-President of SCOPA
Hello! I’m a graduate student from Olin with a knack for numbers and speed – both on paper and the racetrack. When I’m not diving deep into the intricacies of supply chain management and finance, you can find me perfecting my swing on the golf course, building strength at the gym, or getting an adrenaline rush from car racing. Blending the analytical with the athletic, I strive for excellence in everything I do. My two worlds often collide: I’ve been known to listen to finance podcasts while working out or taking a lap on the racetrack.
Aarushee Agrawal – Vice President
Aarushee is 2nd year MBA student from India with an inclination to pursue career in Operations consulting. She recently completed her internship in GEP as a Global-Delivery Consultant. Prior to coming to WashU, she worked in heavy manufacturing as a Senior Manager, operations and supply chain.
Fun fact: Aarushee knows more than 5 Indian languages and she is currently learning Spanish.
Yining Huang – Vice President
Yining Huang is a second year Supply Chain Management Graduate Student here at WashU Olin Business School. He is also the Vice President of SCOPA. Prior to WashU, Yining had his bachelor’s degree in supply chain management as well from Michigan State University.
My fun fact is I went to Dubai last month and went to the top of the highest building in the world.
Arpit Arya – SCOPA Board Member
I’m Arpit Arya, the newest Operations and Supply Chain Club (SCOPA) member – your friendly neighborhood supply chain enthusiast with a twist!
I come from the enchanting village of Khemkaran, situated right at the border between India and Pakistan. In this idyllic setting, immersed in the essence of rural life, my grandmother imparted profound insights about the captivating realm of trains to my ten-year-old self.
🚂 Fast forward to today, and my train fascination has only grown. During my undergrad years, I decided to take the scenic route by pursuing a degree in Mechatronics Engineering.
But wait, that’s not all! Before I even set foot in Olin, I’d already clocked some serious mileage – building trains on three continents. 🌍✈️ Why, you ask? I had a grand vision: to make public transportation systems more inclusive for our specially abled pals in developing economies.
🌟 But enough about trains (for now)! Let’s dive into the other bits of my life. I’m not just your average supply chain geek; I’m also a gourmet at heart. Foodie alert! 🍔🍕🍣 And it doesn’t stop there. I’ve got a knack for capturing life’s most precious moments through the lens of my camera. Photography, anyone? 📸
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll often find me nose-deep in poetry and prose from around the globe. I’ve got a thing for languages, and I’m not afraid to show it! 📚 Museums are my happy place, where I can soak up art and history like a sponge. And if you ever need a partner for a game of badminton, count me in! 🏸
Oh, did I mention I’m a co-founder of “Gurshaahi”? It’s a non-profit on a mission to create the most massive archive of Punjabi Literature EVER. We’ve got a thriving community of 35,000 patrons and dabbled in podcasting and interviews with Punjabi literary legends.
🎙️ Now, here’s the grand finale: I’m on a mission with SCOPA to make supply chain and operations the coolest subjects on the block. Together, we’re turning the world of logistics into a playground of learning and fun! 🚚📦 So, buckle up and hop on board – we’re taking the supply chain world by storm, one exciting adventure at a time. 🌪️ Let’s make learning about operations and supply chain management as thrilling as a rollercoaster ride!
Fun Fact: – I have been to the world’s oldest operating bookstore as well as the world’s most beautiful bookstore.
Tanya Bansal – SCOPA Board Member
I’m Tanya Bansal, a first-year MBA international student from India, class of 2025, at Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis. Here is a bit about myself and why I’m excited to be a part of the Olin Supply Chain and Operations Association (SCOPA).
I’m an English literature major with a dash of German language proficiency thrown in for good measure. Despite my unconventional academic path, I come from a solid marketing and communications background, with five years of hands-on experience in education management. During my tenure as a Programme Officer at the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), I honed my skills in crafting effective communication strategies and nurturing collaborations with key stakeholders in the academic and research sphere, while working with incubators, think tanks, academic institutions, and government organizations across India and Germany.
I am also a creative professional with a nuanced artistic side. From gazing at my mother’s art portfolio as a child to dabbling in my own creative expressions, I’ve always had a fascination with art. In addition to that, languages, literature, and history captivate my imagination because, at heart, I’m a storyteller. I find solace in museums and exhibitions, much like a bookworm in a library. Beyond my love for words and art, I’m a polyglot, conversant in English, Hindi, and German. My Instagram page, @booknerds.art, is a testament to my voracious reading habits and my penchant for sharing my unique interpretations through writing and illustrations. I’m particularly drawn to philosophy, with Sartre and Kafka occupying prime real estate in my thoughts. I also find immense joy in wielding charcoal and oil paints, not to mention the tactile satisfaction of sculpting. So, to sum it up, I envision bridging the gap between creativity and commerce, all while weaving captivating stories in my inimitable ways. Within SCOPA, my primary goal is to elevate engagement and foster greater awareness within the Olin community about the dynamic supply chain and operations world. I intend to achieve this by actively contributing to the various initiatives to enhance understanding and create a tangible impact through networking, gaining hands-on experience, and knowledge sharing. I am a contributing association member, driven to instigate positive change. SCOPA, in turn, aligns with this vision and is committed to introducing innovative engagement formats and providing real-world insights into the supply chain and operations processes.
