Hello everyone! My name is Lixing. I am one of the SMP academic advisors here at Olin, primarily advising students in Finance of Wealth Asset Management, Quantitative Finance, and Global Master’s of Finance. I am originally from Guangzhou, China. With over 9 years of experience in higher education, I have delved into various facets of the field, including international admissions, recruitment, advising, coaching, programming, and cross-cultural teaching and learning. My passion for education traces back to my childhood dreams of becoming a teacher. I came to the US as an international student and finished my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education from the University of South Carolina Upstate. My own transformative experience with unwavering support from faculty and staff at my alma mater inspired me to join their ranks, not only as a teacher but as a dedicated supporter and advocate of students in higher education institutions. This passion led me to complete my Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the College of William and Mary in Virginia.
In both my personal and professional life, I firmly believe in the power of “involve” and “inspire.” These guiding principles have driven my journey, leading me to actively participate in initiatives that make a difference. I relocated to St. Louis in 2016, where I found a new home and met my wonderful husband. Outside of work, I like exercise, music, and reading. To balance my life, I am an avid explorer of new experiences, be it through painting or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. My adventurous spirit extends to my travels; I have explored numerous countries and places, navigating diverse airports, and forging connections that have transcended borders.
