I was born in Lagos, Nigeria, however, my family moved to Tanzania when I was just three years old. We lived there for about six years, and I still remember those years vividly. It was a great discovery for me as I learned about different cultures and ways of life. Even at that young age, I was fascinated by the diversity of people and their traditions.
A few days before I turned nine, my family moved to the United States, specifically to New Jersey. It was a significant change, and I had to adjust to a new environment and culture. However, I was determined to make the most of this opportunity and quickly adapted to my new surroundings. In 2014, I attended Rutgers University for my undergrad degree in Information Technology & Informatics, taking my love of technology to the next level.
I have always found joy in solving complex business problems with technology. Before attending business school, I worked in software development for Fidelity Investments, where I focused on modernizing legacy technology and developing in the cloud. It was an exciting time for me as I learned about cutting-edge technologies and their applications in business. I decided to attend business school to leverage my technology acumen with a world-class business degree to pursue a career in product management. During my time at business school, I gained valuable knowledge and skills in strategic planning, marketing, and finance. I also had the opportunity to work on various projects and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.
Last summer, I interned at Google, where I helped clients leverage the Google Cloud suite to develop, launch, and maintain their products. It was a great experience, and I learned a lot about product management, customer service, and project management. I was impressed by the innovative and collaborative culture at Google, therefore, reinforcing my desire to pursue a career in technology in product management.
I have a passion for leadership, mentoring, and giving back. In my free time, I enjoy working out, watching sports, playing the piano, cooking, and traveling. I have also volunteered with various organizations and charities, including for my church and fraternity. These experiences have taught me the value of teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
Looking back on my life, I realize that my experiences have shaped me into the person I am today. My multicultural background has given me a unique perspective on life, and I have learned to appreciate the beauty of diversity. My passion for technology has fueled my desire to innovate and solve complex problems. My dedication to leadership and giving back has taught me the importance of empathy and compassion.
