Meet Chris Collier
“It is tough to find a coach who becomes a friend without jeopardizing his values. as an international student, his understanding and competence as a cash coach helped me more than anything else to prepare me for my future job.” Tobi Sonubi, MBA 2023
“Chris has always provided a wonderful, welcoming, and paternal energy to his interactions with Olin MBAs. When you need support, he’s always there for you. When you need advice, he has digestible and sage wisdom to offer. When you need a laugh, there are few better to share one with. Those who have leaned on him for career guidance will surely miss him in this role, but there is no doubt that he will be hugely successful in shaping the entirety of the MBA student experience.” Derek W. Hawkes, MBA 2023
Chris is the current Assistant Dean and Director of Operations and Strategy for the Graduate Programs Office. You might remember Chris from his previous role at the Weston Career Center. He has been a part of Olin since 2018 and was one of the first hires to assist in developing and transforming the WCC. Since then, he has led multiple initiatives, such as creating the new WCC services model focusing on a student’s journey from admissions interviews to graduation and increasing student satisfaction scores within the WCC. Interesting fact – He has participated in every version of Global Immersion from the one-week spring semester pilot to its current form. Barcelona is his favorite location and favorite soccer club. Més que un club! Visca El Barca!
Before coming to WashU, Chris worked for over 20 years leading Human Resources and Executive Talent Acquisition teams. His in-depth understanding of human resources and employee onboarding comes from leading teams responsible for creating onboarding strategies, internship programs, and human resources processes for multiple Fortune 500 companies.
Outside work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, watching his two daughters swim for their high school and college teams, cooking and entertaining with friends and family, and listening to music from all genres except country. His fur family includes Walter and Winston and a cat named Willa. Unfortunately, she hates having her picture taken. Enjoy the Walt and Winston pic below.
